Getting on the water:

After enjoying the scenic drive through Long Lake Regional Park, I eventually made it to the public beach.  Unaware of where the boat launch was located (off of Beach Road), I made the decision to part from there.  There was plenty of available parking; however, the walk was a little more than I would have liked.  Once reaching the water, I had no trouble putting my board in at the “Boat Parking” station located on the South side of the beach.  I’d recommend going from the boat launch area to avoid crowds and have a shorter trek to the water.

The paddle:

This was my first solo paddle trip and I had a blast!  After a draining morning, this was just the fix I needed to relax and unwind a bit.  It was a beautiful sunny day and the absolute perfect temperature to be out on the water.  I hugged the shore of the Southern half of the lake and there were only a few other boats joining me.

After about 45 minutes of paddling I was near the end of my loop, but decided to make a worthwhile stop.  I ended up laying on my SUP and reading for a half hour or so — definitely helped add to the relaxing time I was hoping to have.
