The Loon is where Paddle North began — our original solid paddle board, built to do it all. Designed as true hybrid, it blends speed and stability for effortless glide on any water. Perfect for long days exploring lakes and rivers, or families, cabins, SUP yoga, and more.
Crafted from real bamboo, the Loon delivers incredibly strength-to-weight performance. It is up to 50% lighter than plastic boards, yet tough enough for years of use. Its nose shape, square tail, and tri-fin setup keep every stroke straight and smooth, allowing for up to 25 strokes per side on calm water.
Available in 10'6", 11'6", and 12', there's a size for every paddler.

What does it include?
In addition to the Loon paddle board, it includes a fin set. Paddle and paddle accessories sold separately.
Is it OK for my dog?
Yes! Just take your dog's weight into consideration when deciding on a size, as paddle board capacities are based on total onboard weight.
Why does it have three fins?
Our solid Loon paddle boards feature a tri-fin setup. This helps with improved tracking, stability, and maneuverability in a variety of different water conditions.
Can I use it in salt water?
Yes! The Loon can be used in salt water or fresh water. Like anything in the ocean, a quick, fresh-water rinse before long term storage is recommended.
Why is shipping more expensive than inflatable paddle boards?
Because of their size, solid paddle boards require shipping via LTL vs. common carrier. This can have more impact on shipping costs. If you live in Minnesota, free pickup at our New Brighton location is always available. This is an option when checking out online.
How long does it take to ship?
Because the Loon solid paddle boards are shipped via LTL freight, extra processing and over-the-road time is required. While exact timing depends on shipping destination, please allow at least 1 extra week for processing and scheduling.
What is the warranty?
