Mothers Day Activities
MOTHER'S DAY IS ALMOST HERE
Mother's Day is right around the corner and perhaps you're still trying to get a plan together. Although there are some extremely creative ideas out there, sometimes simple is better. Now that it's warming up, this is a great opportunity to get outside. Here are some of our favorite Mother's Day activities - whether it's with the whole family, extended family, you and your spouse, or just Mom.
1. GO FOR A HIKE (BONUS: INCLUDE A PICNIC)
A hike is one of the simplest ways to enjoy the outdoors along with those you love. If you're unsure where to go, visit your State Park website for route ideas. In many areas, flowers and trees are blooming, so it's a perfect time to enjoy nature. Throw together a picnic for the ultimate payoff after a satisfying hike.
2. SPEND THE DAY PADDLING
Making this number one would have been too obvious, but we think paddling is a great way to get outside and be active, while also relaxing. Whether it's a paddle board, kayak, or canoe... this is a fun way to spend an afternoon with your family.
3. GO HAMMOCKING
Paddling and hiking are great, but sometimes relaxing is even better. How do you go hammocking? You just need some portable hammocks (we can help you out). Then make your way to a park, forest, or body of water with trees. Find a spot where you can set up some hammocks, lay down, and enjoy the silence (or music). This is a perfect opportunity to let Mom recharge.
4. HAVE A BONFIRE
Few things in life are more satisfying than a crackling, warm bonfire. Gather some sticks and logs, and start a fire to enjoy on a cool, evening. Make it even better with some s'mores. Now that it's spring, it's time to perfect your fire-starting skills in preparation for long summer nights.
5. ANY OF THE ABOVE, BUT LET MOM GO SOLO
There's no doubt that activities with the whole family are fun. But maybe the ultimate gift for Mother's Day is an opportunity for quiet solitude. Let Mom get away and recharge for a bit without any distractions. She deserves it.
