It is up to the operator to use common sense while using this product.

Do not allow persons to operate or assemble this kayak until they have read this manual and have a thorough understanding of how this kayak works.

This product is not a life saving device. A Type III personal flotation device (PFD) is required at all times while on board the Karve Kayak.

Do not use the Karve Kayak under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Do not use the Karve Kayak if you cannot swim.

Do not use the Karve Kayak in rough waters, in storm-like conditions, or when lightning is present.

Use caution when getting in and out of the Karve Kayak.

Consult your physician before using a kayak.

Use this product only if you know you are in good physical health.

Users of this product are responsible for their own safety.

Do not over inflate. Only inflate within recommended PSI range.

Inspect the Karve Kayak for any worn or defective parts prior to use and replace as necessary.

Do not use if the product is defective.

Do not use near motorized boats.

While in use, ensure the Karve Kayak is in deep enough water, free from hazardous materials.

Always carry the Karve Kayak to the water, do not haul it across the ground.

If under 18, always use the Karve Kayak under adult supervision.

Users of this kayak assume all risk and liability.

Prepare the Inflation Valve: Ensure the valve pin (center pin) on the inflation valve is in the up position. When the pin is up, air can be pumped in, and the kayak will not lose pressure when the pump hose is removed. Note: The 10' Karve Kayak and the 12' Karve Kayak have 2 inflation valves.

Inflate the kayak: Connect the pump hose and inflate the kayak to 6–10 PSI, depending on your preferred rigidity. The pump's gauge will begin registering pressure around 3–5 PSI.

Maximum capacity is 18 PSI.

If the internal pressure reaches the maximum, the pressure regulator will automatically release small amounts of air.

Using Electric Pumps: Electric pumps and air compressors can also be used for inflation. We offer adapters and e-pumps if manual pumping is difficult. If you already own an electric pump, feel free to use it—off-brand pumps will not void your warranty or damage the dock.

Checking the Valves (Periodic Maintenance): Once a year, use the black valve wrench from the repair kit to ensure both the air fill valve and pressure relief valve are snug.

Warning: Do not completely unscrew either valve.

There are no tools required. The fin slides the into the fin box and locks in place with the locking pin.

Place the backrest onto seat and insert both hitch pins to assemble. Position the seat in the preferred position. Once in place, attach each strap to the corresponding D-rings around the cockpit and tighten to secure it.

Prepare for Deflation: Deflating the kayak only takes a few minutes. Before rolling or storing, make sure the surface is dry.

Release the Air: Open the valve caps and press down on the valve pins (center pin). The pin will lock in the down position, allowing air to flow out freely. Let the kayak sit for a few minutes as it fully deflates.

Optional: Use a Pump to Speed Up Deflation Both the electric pump and the manual pump can assist with deflation. Simply switch the hose connection to the deflate setting to vacuum out the remaining air.

Storing the kayak inflated or deflated is acceptable. If storing deflated, ensure that the Kayak is completley dry. If storing in a below freezing temperature, it is better to have the Kayak unrolled where the seams won’t be stressed.

Please check local laws and regulations for licensing and registering your paddle craft.

In most states, you are required to register your kayak.

Steps:

1. Go to your local DMV.

2. Show your sales receipt.

3. Present your kayak's 12 character serial number beginning with PDN (example: PDN 12345 A1 20).

4. Pay the fee (usually $10-$30) and get a sticker that is good for (typically) a few years.

The 10' Karve Kayak supports any paddler and gear up to 350 lbs.

The 12' Karve Kayak supports paddlers and gear up to 650 lbs.

Anything above those weights causes the kayak's balance becomes more difficult.
